The Procedure

A thorough history and physical examination of your horse will be taken so that Marieke can form a ‘whole horse’ assessment. Sedation is essential to keep the head, mouth and tongue very still for in-depth examination. A powerful speculum light, mirror, and/or dental endoscope is then used to closely examine all teeth, gums and soft tissue - similar to the kind of check-up you have with your own dentist! Regular examinations are vital to ensure problems are picked up sooner rather than later - many people are pleasantly surprised to find that procedures for early treatment and prevention are minimally invasive and very affordable.

There’s also the added benefit of having a highly qualified vet and dentist rolled into one - no more doubling up on the cost of getting a vet out for sedation, and you have access to a full range of veterinary services. So if your horse has a vaccination due or needs a blood test, for example, no problem - we’ve got that covered too!
